Night Vision with Pedestrian Detection

Night Vision uses state-of-the-art infrared technology combined with black-and-white imaging to see things before they are visible to the naked eye. Using a thermal imaging camera mounted in the lower air dam, Night Vision recognizes people, animals, and objects based upon the heat they emit. The warmer the object, the brighter it illuminates on the iDrive display monitor. The Pedestrian Detection feature recognizes and indicates individual pedestrians on or near the roadway at a range up to 330 feet. The system only works during night hours, and it must be cooler than 95-degrees Fahrenheit.

A 7 That’s Smarter Than Ever

The New 7 includes the latest driving assistance technology – including Back-up Assistant, exclusively from BMW. It records your recent maneuvers, so if you're feeling stuck in a tight spot, your BMW can back you out automatically.

German precision comes to its zenith with the BMW brand, and the 2020 lineup expands the already long list of options available to shoppers. Both the 2 Series and M8 come as Gran Coupes (subcompact cars with four doors). The 2 Series Gran Coupe comes equipped with either a 228-horsepower or 301-horsepower engine, a Torsen limited-slip front differential for superior handling, and several standard safety programs. There are three versions of the M8 Gran Coupe, 840i, 840i xDrive, and M850i xDrive, that feature a longer, wider, and taller body and standard components such as a moonroof, remote start, head-up display, and Live Cockpit Pro with Navigation. Other M8 models, specifically the Coupe and Convertible, come with a 600-horsepower V8 engine. At the same time, a Competition version reaches 617 horsepower, rear-biased all-wheel drive with an Active M rear differential, and many M-specific features. The 3 Series M340i features M-specific performance components, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch digital touchscreen, a 382-horsepower Turbo six-cylinder engine, and also weighs 121 pounds less than last year's model. Several X Series models come in additional variants with stronger engines, 20- or 22-inch wheels, and enhanced infotainment, including Live Cockpit Pro and the latest version of iDrive. X3 and X4 now come with M embellishments for the first time. A limited-edition M2 CS is available that reaches a 444-horsepower twin-turbo inline six-cylinder for drivers who want something a little different. New colors are available for the Z4 M40i, in addition to a new turbo six-cylinder engine and M performance elements. Models that have received refreshed looks, upgraded powerhouses, and innovative tech include the M550i, M550i xDrive, 530e, the 7 Series, and X1.
