ECO PRO

ECO PRO Mode uses engine management software to adjust the engine's output characteristics—the automatic transmission upshifts sooner and remains in a higher gear longer. And for the first time, ECO PRO also includes a “coasting mode,” on cars equipped with automatic transmission, where the powertrain is decoupled as soon as the driver backs off the accelerator at speeds between 30 and 100 mph, eliminating engine braking to improve fuel efficiency.

Auto Start-Stop

Red lights, traffic jams, train crossings — in everyday driving situations there are countless instances where the engine is idling, unnecessarily burning fuel. The Auto Start-Stop function automatically switches off the engine when the vehicle is stationary and the driver engages the brake. This only happens when energy is not needed for anything else — such as for the air-conditioning system and rear window defroster — and as soon as the driver’s foot leaves the brake pedal, the engine starts up again. It's a seamless and comfortable way to save fuel and protect the environment.

8-Speed Sport Automatic Transmission

Provides extremely fast synchronized shifting. By increasing the number of gears to eight, the transmission provides a more efficient shifting sequence and improved fuel economy. Includes Adaptive Transmission Control (ATC) with Sport and Manual shift modes and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. When in Sport mode, shifts can be generated via the console-mounted shift lever or the paddle shifters. The close spacing of the gear ratios of the optional 8-speed sport automatic transmission enables maximum use of the optimum rev range, significantly lowering fuel consumption and enhancing shift comfort.
